The Product: Des(1-3) insulin-like growth factor-I, [Des(1-3)IGF-I]
is a 67 amino acid analog of human IGF-I lacking the N-terminal
tripeptide Gly-Pro-Glu. Des(1-3) IGF-I is more potent than IGF-I in
vitro and in vivo. This increased potency is due to reduced
binding of Des(1-3)IGF-I to most of the IGF binding proteins
produced by cells. These binding proteins normally inhibit the
biological actions of IGF-I. The truncated peptide has been found in brain
and other tissues.
Source: Des(1-3)IGF-I is produced in E. coli using a
patented expression system. Several chromatography purification
steps are employed to yield the Receptor Grade product.

acetic acid), aliquot and store at -20°C. For lower dilutions (e.g.
<1mg/ml) inclusion of a carrier protein is recommended. Avoid
freeze-thaw cycles.
