Barramundi IGF-I, recombinant protein (Receptor Grade)
Insulin-like Growth Factor-I, Barramundi (Lates calcarifer), recombinant (Receptor Grade) Synonyms: Igf-1, insulin-like growth factor-1, Somatomedin c, ILGF1, Mechano growth factor
Product Specifications Barramundi IGF-I:
The Product: Recombinant barramundi (Lates calcarifer) insulin-like growth factor-I (rbIGF-I) is a 66 amino acid polypeptide. IGF-I stimulates growth and differentiation in many cell types. IGF-I mediates many of the anabolic properties of growth hormone.
Source: Barramundi IGF-I is synthesized in E. coli using a patented expression system and the barramundi IGF-I is correctly folded and then purified by several liquid chromatography purification steps to yield receptor grade barramundi IGF-I.
Purity: > 95% (as determined by HPLC and N-terminal sequence analysis).
Molecular Weight: 7309 daltons – confirmed by Mass Spectrometer.
N-terminal sequence analysis of recombinant product: 5 residues > 95% single sequence.
Biological Activity: (stimulation of protein synthesis in L6 myoblasts) ED50:24.0 ng/ml
Endotoxin (LAL): < 0.1 EU/µg
Stability: At least 2 years at 2-4°C (lyophilised)
Appearance: White Powder
State: Lyophilised from 0.1 M acetic acid: under dry nitrogen @ slight vacuum (-25kPa).
Reconstitution: Dissolve in dilute acid (e.g. 10mM HCl or 0.1M acetic acid), aliquot and store at -20°C. For lower dilutions (e.g.< 1mg/ml) inclusion of a carrier protein is recommended. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
This is a Gropep specification. ibt is authorized distributor of GroPep.
