Product Specifications Rat IGF-II:

Rat Insulin-like Growth Factor-II is polypeptide of 67 amino acids, four of which differ from human IGF-II at positions 22, 32, 35 and 36, with the latter three changes occuring in the C-domain.

Biological Activity: Rat IGF-II has a similar potency to human IGF-II for binding to the Type 2 IGF receptors on rat L6 myoblasts. Both ED50 values are approximately 3.8 ng/ml. Rat IGF-II and human IGF-II also exhibit a similar potency for the stimulation of protein synthesis in rat L6 myoblasts. In this assay both ED50 values are approximately 15 ng/ml.

State:Dried from 0.1 M acetic acid and stored under dry nitrogen at a slight vacuum.

Reconstitution:Dissolve in dilute acid (e.g. 10mM HCl or 0.1M acetic acid), aliquot and store at -20°C. For lower dilution (e.g. < 1mg/ml) inclusion of a carrier protein is recommended. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Storage/Stability: At least 2 years at 2-4°C (lyophilized)
