The Product: Des(1-6) insulin-like growth factor - II [Des(1-6)IGF-II] is a 61 amino acid analog of human IGF-II, lacking the first six N-terminal amino acids. Des(1-6)IGF-II exhibits reduced affinity for IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs), which are known to inhibit the actions of IGF's. Des(1-6)IGF-II has slightly lower affinity for IGFBPs than the IGF-II analog  [Arg6]IGF-II

Source: Des(1-6)IGF-II is produced recombinantly in E. coli using a patented  expression system and chromatography is employed to yield  Receptor Grade  Des(1-6)IGF-II.

Purity: >95% (as determined by HPLC and N-terminal sequence analysis)

Molecular Weight: 6765 daltons - confirmed by Mass Spectrometry

N-terminal sequence analysis of recombinant product: 5 residues > 95% single sequence

Reconstitution:Dissolve in dilute acid (e.g. 10mM HCl or 0.1M acetic acid), aliquot and store at -20°C.  For lower dilutions (e.g.< 1mg/ml) inclusion of a carrier-protein is recommended.  Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
