Antibodies to Insulin-like Growth Factors (IGF´s)and Analogs
Anti-human IGF-I, polyclonal antiserum, rabbit
Anti-human Insulin-like Growth Factor-I, polyclonal antibody, rabbit Synonyms: Anti-human IGF-1, Anti-Somatomedin C
Product Specifications Anti-human IGF-I:
Anti-human IGF-I is a polyclonal antiserum specific for human, bovine and porcine IGF-I all of which share an identical amino acid sequence. This antiserum is suitable for use in radioimmunoassay, immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation.
Source: The antiserum is derived from rabbit serum raised against an immunogenic analog of human IGF-I.
Quantity: 5 µl of serum
Appearance: White Powder
Specificity: The antiserum is specific for human, bovine or porcine IGF-I. Cross- reactivity with rat IGF-I and chicken IGF-I is 25% and 70% respectively. The antiserum displays less than 1 % cross-reactivity with human IGF-II.
Titre: At a dilution of 1/80 000 the antiserum binds 30-40% of fresh [125I]-labelled human IGF-I tracer. Half-maximal inhibition (ED50) of radioligand binding is produced by 250-300 pg of human IGF-I.
Reconstitution: Dissolve in a suitable buffer solution appropriate for desired application.
Storage/Stability: At least 2 years at 2-4°C (lyophilised). After
reconstitution store at -20°C.
The relative potencies of the following peptides at inhibiting the
binding of [125I] human IGF-I to this antiserum were found to be:
human IGF-I: 100%
chicken IGF-I: 70%
bovine IGF-I*: 100%
Long [R3]IGF-I: 20%
porcine IGF-I*: 100%
[R3]IGF-I: 100 %
rat IGF-I: 25%
human IGF-II: <1%
*NB: bovine and porcine IGF-I have the same amino acid sequence as human IGF-I.
